K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. is the parent company of Food City, a highly competitive regional retail grocery chain, operating in the Tri-State area of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. K-VA-T also operates a 1,200,000 square feet fully functional Distribution Center, as well as Misty Mountain Water Bottling facility, all located in the beautiful and historic town of Abingdon, VA. K-VA-T is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Systems Development, located at our corporate headquarters in Abingdon, VA. This position is responsible for the oversight and direction of the internal development of applications, database and integration activities, and selection/implementation of third-party software for all aspects of the organization.
Successful candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields with a minimum 7 years experience in managing applications development practices supplemented with previous technical experience. Additionally, candidates must possess high proficiency with the SDLC and various development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, RAD, etc.), excellent project management and communications skills, a history of successful personnel development and training, and documented experience in the direction of development teams and managers towards on-time delivery of projects.
