About this Opportunity:
Reporting to the VP of Technical Development, the Director of Technical Marketing will set the course for AMSOIL’s technical marketing efforts. Working closely with both Senior Management and other key stakeholders, you will define specific technical marketing plans for our key segments including execution of the selected approach. The successful candidate will create content for technical marketing documents aimed at both businesses and end-users.
Detailed proposals to better position AMSOIL in prioritized markets will be an important component of the position including development of the overall plan, leading efforts to integrate technical marketing activities with Marketing Communications outlining costs, coordinating timelines and presenting finished plans.
The Director will also partner with Technical Product Managers to ensure successful execution of new product development plans and development of technical marketing information. You will utilize and leverage consumer and market research and other competitive insights to ensure success. This position will also work closely with our Dealer Sales group to incorporate this insight successfully into sales tools.

Responsibilities:
- Support Marketing Communications by writing and providing content for marketing literature, field studies, competitive assessments, ect.
- Develop clear and concise value propositions and Go-to-Market Strategies
- Coordinate launch plans providing clear direction to Marketing Communications and Sales organizations preparing them for a successful product release and development of targeted revenue
- Lead development of data in segments that are just developing and provide direction for the team
- Develop a deep and thorough understanding of competitive trends, competitor marketing, competitive products and overall category performance
- Develop strategies to support each product launch that include: collaterals, white papers, target markets, positioning, competitive assessments, presentations, training, pricing and input on promotions
- Conduct industry analysis and monitor customers and competition to define new product/ marketing opportunities
- Develop and maintain product roadmap, providing strategic direction to Senior Management, Communications, Product Management and Sales
- Organize teams including and create efficiencies through introduction of marketing processes to streamline work
- Communicate proactively with stake holders regarding changes in scope, timelines, or resource requirements
- Provide support and leadership for other marketing initiatives
Requirements include:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering
- Minimum 7 years experience in 1 or more of the following:
- Business and Marketing Management
- Product Development
- Technical Product Management
- Strategic Planning
- Experience working effectively with cross functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to analyze information, make decisions and convince other of the validity of those decisions
- Creative ability to develop strategic messaging
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade and make well- reasoned arguments while listening to and respecting others views
- Strong conceptual skills
