Director of TRIO Student Support Services Job in Normal 61761, Illinois US

We seek applicants for a full-time position to provide programmatic administration and leadership for the College’s federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) project. This position is responsible for enrollment management, financial oversight, staff supervision, and community relations as well as ensuring overall compliance with grant policy for TRIO programs is met. Will collaborate with other College constituencies to create a campus environment that is conducive to the academic success of low income and first-generation students and students with disabilities.

Master’s degree in a field relevant to effective practices in higher education student affairs, such as Educational Administration, Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, or similar discipline required.

Other requirements include minimum of four years’ work experience in administration of educational opportunity programs or minimum of three years’ supervisory experience or progressively responsible administrative experience; minimum of three years’ experience serving low income and first-generation students in academic advising, counseling, and support activities or at least five years’ experience at the assistant director level or above in higher education; understanding/familiarity with federal program regulations; familiarity with academic and student services in higher education; and proven commitment to the needs of the TRIO target population.

Background similar to those of students served by TRIO, word processing and database application skills, and grant writing experience desired.
