Director of U.S. Kids Child Development Center Job in Washington 20005, District Of Columbia Us

U.S. Kids is a non-profit, federally-sponsored, GSA, NAEYC-accredited Child Development Center in downtown Washington, D.C.  We are looking for a Director to lead our teachers and staff and manage the daily operations of the Center. We currently have over 100 children (ages 3 months-5 years) and 30 employees.  The Director will report to the Center’s Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate will have:

-          10 years or more of combined teaching and management experience, including experience in a preschool or child development center;

 

-          A graduate degree in early childhood education or a related field;

 

-          Knowledge of D.C. and NAEYC criteria for child care programs;

 

-          Experience in managing, evaluating and mentoring staff;

 

-          Solid communication and customer service skills;

 

-          An ability to relate meaningfully and effectively with parents and children;

 

-          An ability to create new and innovative programs to enhance the daily curriculum; and

 

-          A vision for how to provide the best care and learning environment for young children.

Minimum requirements:

-          5 years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree;
