Due to an internal move we are currently recruiting a Director level specialist to join our central Risk Management Group with a focus on the WRAP / Super product portfolio of our retail financial services (BFS) business.
About the role
key responsibilities will include:
- Management and accountability for the WRAP/Super platform's operational and compliance risk framework
- Developing operational risk frameworks, driving a strong risk management culture and go-to person for operational and compliance risk advice
- Assessing new product and business opportunities via the Macquarie approval process
- Providing risk guidance on various business projects and ensuring the appropriate frameworks are in place to manage project and business risks
- Partnering with all areas of the business to ensure they clearly understand their role in relation to effective risk management
- Engaging with stakeholders in the broader Macquarie Risk Management Group
- Performing targeted compliance and risk reviews, and drafting and assisting with implementing solutions to process and control design
- Incident and breach reporting; analysing incidents and breaches (including their causes) to identify control improvements necessary and ensuring actions are implemented
- Facilitating the Operational Risk Self-Assessment (ORSA) workshops for the businesses with management to assess their businesses operational risk and control environments and identify significant risks and critical controls
- Assisting in operational risk and compliance assessments and policy reviews across BFS
About you:
- Strong tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Audit, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline
- Proven operational risk, audit or compliance experience at senior management level
- Experience of WRAP/Super products and their regulatory frameworks is highly desirable
- Experience leading and working with large operations teams with high transaction volumes and complex IT systems
- A high degree of commercial acumen with understanding of long term strategic business objectives
- Strong technical, analytical, written and verbal communication and influencing skills
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively leading a team of specialists
- The respect of others and the ability to bring a high level of energy and commitment to the team
About us
The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
