As Director of Payroll and Accounts Payable Services for at Aurora Health Care, imagine yourself *Developing, implementing, and evaluating system-wide payroll and accounts payable (expenditure cycle) operations, ensuring a consistent approach to delivery and management and oversees related regulatory compliance. Ensuring expenditure cycle strategies are based on best practice which aligns with organizational strategies and objectives. *Developing and executing expenditure cycle operations and strategic initiatives which support organizational strategy, best practice, and operational efficiency. Providing leadership and direction in the utilization, accuracy and effectiveness of payroll operations. *Overseeing expenditure cycle accounting practices, analysis and reporting in accordance with federal, state and local tax laws, all corporate policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. *Providing expert consulting regarding payroll initiatives and tools to facilitate overall organizational performance. Responsible for partnering with various internal departments including accounting, operations, human resources and legal to resolve financial and related operational issues. * Assisting in the cash management process. Monitors payment terms and effectively promotes prompt payment discounts where applicable. Developing and implementing new techniques, policies and procedures in conjunction with key functional areas (Human Resources, Sourcing Operations, Accounting and Information Technology) to facilitate the expenditure cycle processes in an efficient manner. *Assessing current expenditure cycle resources including technology and processes to identify, recommending, and implementing prioritized solutions to drive best practices and process improvements and support the achievement the organization's initiatives. *Developing and establishing an effective internal control structure and self audit procedures that will ensure compliance, consistent and efficient application of expenditure cycle policies, data integrity and security. *Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines. Enforcing adherence to requirements and advises leadership management on required actions to ensure regulatory compliance for expenditure cycle. * Collaborating with other financial planning and accounting leadership to develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes related to expenditure cycle operations. *Developing and implements appropriate expenditure cycle related policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, while minimizing manual effort to ensure compliance. Ensuring corporate policies are properly administered and new policies are adequately documented and communicated across all corporate organizations. * Developing and drives key project plans to increase automation, consistency, accuracy, and integrity of payroll systems and operations. * Being accountable for the development, implementation, and monitoring of budgets (expense, assets, production, projects). * Performing human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, pay adjustments, resolution of employee concerns, disciplinary counseling, terminations, and employee morale. * Being responsible for understanding and adhering to the Aurora Health Care Code of Excellence and for ensuring personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws that affect Aurora's business.
