Director, Payroll Job in Morgantown, West Virginia Us

The Director, Payroll will be responsible for managing the payroll activities for the processing of multi-state U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and Canadian payroll. 

 

Specific areas of responsibility include the following:

 

·         Direct the overall payroll function including processing for union, hourly, salaried salaried with overtime employees

·         Serve as an internal expert for compliance issues. Stay abreast of and keep staff informed of any company policies and compliance guidelines

·         Drive efficiencies in the  payroll process by initiating process improvements to maximize customer service, productivity and controls

·         Ensure Payroll processes are in accordance with GAAP, SOX guidelines, regulatory and taxation requirements, and company policies

·         Ensure payroll tax filings and payments are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax laws.

·         Ensure accuracy of payroll calculations and reporting by monitoring input and creating control procedures

·         Manage the payroll year end process, including the processing of W2s

·         Prepare payroll related reports for management as requested

·         Mange third party vendor relationships  

 

The successful candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a minimum of five years of experience.  Seven years of direct experience is preferred.  Experience with ADP Payforce, reporting writing and ADP Connection is preferred.  Must possess knowledge of the Payroll system and policies and procedures surrounding its administration.  Must understand and be able to apply Payroll regulatory and tax rules and codes accurately.
