Director – Physical Commodities IT recruitment

You would be responsible for:

Leadership of the Physical Commodities IT Function including system development and ownership of the application, setting direction, and overseeing the physical commodities business and other commodities businesses
Leadership and management to multiple teams within Commodities IT delivering diverse projects within Electronic Trading, Trade Capture, Pricing, Risk, and Application support
Proactively engaging with the business in the expansion of the physical commodities business and lead the expansion of the framework to cover physical commodities as the business expands
Interacting with other control functions in the support of the commodities business and lead the systems development to support an expanded physical commodities business and actively participate in projects to implement such systems.

To be shortlisted for this role, you would have:

Ability to combine the business requirements with the need for robust controls through application of procedures, processes and adherence to policies.
Ability to quickly assess a situation and quickly establish the relevant risk considerations of any proposal involving physical commodities and advise the business appropriate course of action
Ability to implement decisions in a pressurized work environment
Relevant levels of experience either at a bank or Commodities trading house with good market knowledge of the characteristics of physical commodities.
Knowledge of matters surrounding the transport and warehousing of physical commodities and knowledge of the process of making and taking delivery of commodities against futures contracts as the futures contracts go to deliver.
