Position Description:
The Director, Product Management for Genworth Financial Investment Services (“GFIS”) encompasses the leadership of all product initiatives for the business. Responsibilities include all commercial efforts of the business’ fee-based offerings and leading the product review and approval process.
GFIS specializes in helping accounting and other financial professionals successfully integrate wealth management into their practices. To accomplish this goal the business needs to provide affiliated financial advisers with relevant product solutions that enable their success. This new leadership role has been created to develop and lead product strategies that enable adviser growth while delivering profitable results for GFIS. This position will be a direct report to the President and CEO of the business.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities and measurements of success
Lead all commercial efforts related to GFIS’ fee based solutions
• Identify and execute on strategies to drive profitable growth within current adviser base and broader distribution
• Manage relationships with key partners
• Be leading advocate for fee based offerings
Product review and approval
• Proactive review of current product offering and gaps
• Develop and utilize industry and client driven research to identify product needs and relevance with the goal to assure target adviser needs are met
• Lead the review and approval process for all new products
Collaborate across GFIS and Genworth Wealth Management’s functional teams
• Recruiting and Business Development: to assure product mix meets needs of new and current financial advisers
• Marketing: to drive consistent and impactful adviser communications
• Investments: active voting member of GFIS’ investment committee
• Work closely with functional teams to prioritize and drive execution of product initiatives; Operations, Technology, Finance and Compliance
Organizational leadership
• Provide leadership to enhance business-wide product awareness
• Develop product performance metrics that support strategy
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or CFA highly desirable
• 5-10 + year career that shows increasing levels of responsibility in a product, operation and / or marketing role, with a minimum of 2 years in leadership roles
• 5+ years of financial service experience; preferably, but not limited to brokerage, advisory or asset management
• Proven ability to lead and deliver results
• Broad financial product knowledge including accumulation, income and protection related products with a strong foundation in fee based / managed account products
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; both oral and written
• Team oriented, with high energy, enthusiasm and commitment to delivering top level work with integrity
• Polished executive presence
• Highly motivated self starter
• Licenses: FINRA series 65 / 66; prefer to also have FINRA series 7, 63 and 24
