Director, Product Strategy Development
- Maintain the overall data services strategic plan. Understand industry developments, competitor plans and positioning, and trends in customer demand and adoption. Assess longer-range (12+ months) data service developments and provide feedback to executive management. Recommend strategic moves related to data services.
- Identify and evaluate new services and business opportunities related to wireless data. Determine strategic value, develop business cases including investment requirements, projected revenues and costs, define high level operational requirements, and assess competitive positioning. Make recommendations on those opportunities.
- Work cross functionally with Engineering, IS, Business Development, Device and Product Management to evaluate long term product roadmaps.
- Understand customer (segment) needs, technology developments, and platform capabilities and future enhancements. Recommend service priorities based on those strategic segments.
- Assess new technology platforms for data services with Engineering and IS.
- Evaluate and develop external partnerships to advance the data strategy and financial performance of data services. Partners may include application and content providers, channel partners for data, technology providers, and broader strategic relationships.
- Define requirements for new products and services and work with external and cross-functional partners (content, technology, OEMs) to define, develop and launch new services to USCC customers
- Develop and execute the data content/application strategy. Manage the BREW application development activity, as well as other content sources/activities.
- Define the user interface requirements for data services. Deliver a user experience that meets established standards and differentiates our services.
- Understand the requirements and assist the planning for selling data services to enterprise (business) customers.
- Initiates, develops, and manages strong partnerships with key stakeholders (internal and external) at all levels in the organization, including senior leaders to ensure successful outcomes of projects, compliance and development of standards of excellence
- Leads effort to develop criteria and manage the resource allocation of team members to support systems, processes and projects to maximize service levels, minimize total cost, reduce business risk and attain company strategic initiatives
- Initiates, develops, and manages strong partnerships with key stakeholders (internal and external) at all levels in the organization, including senior leaders to ensure successful outcomes of projects, compliance and development of standards of excellence
- MBA or Masters degree in related discipline or equivalent experience required.
- 10+ years of business experience that includes planning and strategy, business development, and technology development / market introduction.
- Wireless industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in developing business cases for executive management. Experience and insights into forecasting market development of new products for both consumer and business segments.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills needed. Strong financial acumen.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities that include setting strategic direction and maintaining a strong customer focus.
