Director, Program Management Governance - Enterprise Clinical Technology Services
The Director, Program Management Governance - Enterprise Clinical Technology Services is responsible for leading the Program Management processes and capabilities for a strategically aligned business organization. This involves developing standardized and transparent processes and reporting that can be utilized by various Program Managers and program teams to manage their programs and technology applications; as well as providing training and oversight for Program Managers and others on PMO procedures. This position is also responsible for facilitating end to end program reviews, escalating key issues/barriers and risks across the programs
This position requires the ability to make presentations to senior leadership, ensure that processes are clearly defined and communicated to the organization, and for making changes to processes as needed to fit the needs of the organization.
This position involves program management responsibilities that require extensive knowledge of the business, health care processes, program evaluation and reporting, supporting fact-based decision making, and ensuring financial management discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Enterprise Clinical Technology Services Program programs, reporting, methodologies and processes.
- Develop/revise program management standards across the organization; including, defining processes for status reporting, financial management reporting, tollgates, etc. to ensure success of programs as they relate to scope, budget, quality, schedule, benefits.
- Manage program and release escalation processes.
- Manage and facilitate the weekly dashboard meetings, escalation of issues from those meetings and facilitate issue resolution.
- Manage and facilitate the weekly program review meetings covering program status, critical path review, IRAAD review, key decisions, solution designs and financial overview.
- Manage and facilitate the quarterly application release reviews - post release to review defects and issues.
- Provide training, support and leadership to program managers and business leads as appropriate.
- Interface with business leaders and program managers to build relationships in support of program tracking and measurement, including measurement and reporting for technical applications.
- Work cross functionally with leaders in IT, other business functions, and partners throughout UHG to execute plans.
- Communicate status, issues and risks to leadership
- Thought-leader and business SME.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA a plus
- 5+ years of relevant program management office experience within a large complex highly matrixed environment, preferably in a healthcare environment
- 7+ years' experience in demonstrating program management processes including: scope, dependencies, stakeholders, capital constraints, issues/risks, reporting
- Experience with various methods and techniques for reporting data to executive audiences
- Knowledge of health care system platforms
- Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-pace environment while maintaining flexibility
- Ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas
- Self starter; able to drive to execution with little to no direction
- Willingness to take on new challenges and get into details
- Generate innovative approaches and solutions to business opportunities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely (written and verbal) to executive audience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, Access, MS Office suite, MS Project, Powerpoint Sharepoint
- PMP certification preferred
