As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including the Program Procurement Director position at our facility in Wichita, KS. OBJECTIVE: Lead the Program Procurement group and has accountability and responsibility for the purchasing contract review and compliance in order to protect the best interest of the company. Develops and implements long and short range plans for ensuring inventory levels to meet global demand. Interaction with suppliers and internal customers. Enhance overall efficiencies and effectiveness of the department. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Timely procurement of inventory and global stock levels to ensure customer requirements are met Ensure that the company purchases the best price and the best quality of goods Responsible for metrics of program pipeline health, zero stock outs, and BOM accuracy Approval of purchase orders Negotiating on pricing for long term agreements with suppliers Review contracts to ensure competitive quoting was used (where necessary); specific requirements of a contract are present; appropriate review and signing authority is present; adequate insurance provisions are contained in the contract Manage and develop direct reporting staff Manage and control departmental expenditures Liaise with other functional / departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of Purchasing department, and to ensure they are fully informed of objectives, purposes and achievements Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary Purchasing development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to managers and staff within organization Ensure that all Purchasing Quality Procedures are being followed and updated as necessary Training and developing personnel in problem solving and quality related techniques and promoting a culture of teamwork Manage business process improvement initiatives Development of and conformance to key metrics for the operation including: cost reduction targets, year on year standard cost control, and factory satisfaction measures Working closely with Supplier Partnership, develop strong supplier relationships which ensures that the company's suppliers are capable of meeting its needs Working closely with Quality and Demand Planning functions to ensure smooth overall operation of the supply chain/purchasing which balances inventory, quality and obsolescence risks Reporting to upper management as needed Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting or related field Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience Experience in managing a workforce that is geographically dispersed Proficient knowledge in all MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access) Broad knowledge of negotiation strategy, contract development, program management, macroeconomics, inventory control, and manufacturing processes Strong business acumen Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal; second foreign language desirable Ability to articulate strategies and implement policies Efficient communication flow, both internally and towards outside parties ADDITIONAL CRITERIA: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers Strong leadership skills Strong teambuilding skills Professional certification (i.e. CPM, APPetc.) Master's degree Strong budget management skills
