PCA Services Inc. is the developer of the PharmaTrust automated dispensing and medication management network, founded in March of 2006.  The company designs and manufactures pharmacist-controlled MedCentres (similar in appearance to ATMs) to dispense prescription medications directly to patients.  The MedCentre is deployed in hospitals, pharmacies, medical clinics and other locations. The company integrates advanced robotics, two-way video teleconferencing and a secure network for patient medical information to create a prescription medication dispensing system.  PCA Services is also designing and manufacturing other medical devices that will interact with its networked platform, and continues to advance its existing product line at a rapid pace.

We are seeking a proactive, skilled, and motivated individual to fill a full-time Director, Project Management Office role on our Professional Services and Enterprise Delivery team within the Technology group.  This position requires extensive previous exposure to large-scale software projects.

 

 

Summary:   
PharmaTrust is undertaking a major effort to extend the capabilities and security elements of its platform as it scales to accommodate large enterprise customers.  At the same time, there is a need to build integration to external enterprise systems.  The Professional Services Enterprise Delivery team is building a Project Management Office to bring consistency to the management of projects across the organization.  The Director will be responsible for defining how projects are managed in terms of approach, tools, documentation, and communication standards.  The Director will also ensure that a consolidated view of all projects across the organization can be summarized and communicated to the senior executive of the company on a regular basis.

 

 

 

Duties Responsibilities:

·          Define the templates and tools that will be used for project management and tracking

·          Develop and maintain standards that will enable effective an delivery process that crosses multiple teams, managing tasks, risks, and issues

·          Manage project managers that may be direct reports, as well as dotted-line reports to ensure consistency in approach

·          Schedule and/or conduct regular meetings with stakeholders

·          Provide communication on status across all projects in the organization

·          Provide leadership in defining delivery objectives and schedule

·          Support internal and external customers in building project teams and their management structure as projects are identified

·          Project financial and risk management

·          Deployment, management and indoctrination of the Project Management Tool Suite

·          Supervise a team of project managers by establishing a formal project management methodology and ensuring that it is followed, assigning resources to projects and supporting and assisting project managers in delivery their projects by providing hands-on support and issue escalation as needed

·          Perform hiring for open positions as needed; provide input into overall PMO budget

·          Implement policies and procedures and project management methodologies that enable the group to deliver quality solutions consistently and effectively using a standard set of processes and deliverables

·          Work with executive team to prioritize work across the programs

·          Escalate critical issues for appropriate/timely resolution as needed.

·          Ensure that work is managed within the departments problem management, change management, and/or project management framework

·          Promote and monitor quality of service among staff through training and by acting as a positive role model

·          Motivate and develop staff to encourage professional development in the department

 

 

Requirements:

·          Eligibility to work in Canada

·          Completion of an undergraduate degree program in business or technology or recognized equivalent

·          Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute

·          Experience building and managing a PMO and managing multiple Project Managers

·          Ten years of practical and related experience with extensive exposure to large multi-discipline software product implementations

·          Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e. PCI, SoX, HIPAA, etc.)

·          Experience demonstrating accurate and effective communication skills, accurate and realistic schedules, proactive risk identification and mitigation, appropriate customer expectations setting, and ability to drive and navigate projects to completion

·          A desire to provide an accurate overview of projects underway, with transparency were risk has been identified

·          Superior interpersonal, communication, leadership, customer service, and project management skills

·          Significant experience writing and / or reviewing detailed project specifications and contract documents

·          Strong computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, particularly Project and Visio

·          Ability to coordinate multiple projects of a highly complex nature simultaneously, which may involve internal staff, clients, and external vendors

·          Strict attention to detail

·          Ability to design and deliver presentations to diverse audiences, including senior management teams as well as groups that include technical and non-technical personnel

Assets:

·          ITIL certified

·          Extensive knowledge in health care, medical technology and pharmaceuticals

·          Demonstrated knowledge of codes and standards applicable to health care environments

·          General familiarity with Service Oriented / Enterprise Service Bus software architecture
