Position Description:

 

The Director, Alberta Sales has overall responsibility for leading our Alberta Sales team. The team consists of Managers, Account Consultants, and Sales specialists. Not only will you lead the team but where appropriate you will build and maintain executive level relationships with our most important customers. Your accountabilities will range from providing leadership and strategy for the team overall as well as at the account level where appropriate, to driving a disciplined and consistent sales methodology to maximize results. Your mandate includes building a great team, delivering against revenue targets, excelling at client relationships, and contributing to the overall strategy of the business.  


Key Duties and Accountabilities:

 

Accountable for the achievement of Fiscal Revenue and Profit Objectives:

·         Lead a team of 30 professionals to meet or exceed assigned revenue targets

·         Leverage Bell’s portfolio of telecom and IT services to increase wallet share from existing customers

·         Develop new revenue streams from targeted prospect accounts

·         Only focus on clients that are of a size and opportunity for a face-to-face relationship

·         Be comfortable with selling complex projects in excess of several millions that incur lengthy sales cycles, able to sell telecom and IT solutions and services

·         Be able to contribute at a strategic level with the Western leadership team in guiding our business longer term

 

Responsible for Account Management Planning and Strategies:

·         Interacts with team to lead, contribute and ensure execution of well defined account plans taking into consideration marketing strategy, assigned customer targets, and customer business objectives

·         Develops and maintains key customer and internal executive relationships, leadership support for account strategies

·         Foster an environment supporting organizational change to encourage calculated risks and sales diligence (i.e. account forecast / planning, process and profit orientation etc)

 

Team and Human Capital Development:

·         Retain/recruit and develop a dynamic, highly motivated, customer-focused sales team

·         Commitment to growing a performance culture by leading the team towards performance excellence with well defined IDP's (Individual Development Plans)

·         Support the development and training of resources to increase human capital assets

·         Assist resources in achieving career plans, ensuring investment in key corporate resource strategies

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

 

·         University degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or Business, Post graduate degree preferred

·         10 years experience in the Telecommunications industry selling and account management, with proven success managing large accounts ($100M)

·         Recognized leader with clear track record of using teamwork to create competitive advantage

·         Strong content development and delivery skills, demonstrated in wide variety of internal and external/customer settings

·         Advanced financial management and business analysis, communication and social skills

·         Ability to formulate, articulate, and implement broad strategic programs

·         Strong coaching and mentor skills

 

Level of Autonomy and Decision Making:

 

·         Highly autonomous role, providing direction and thought leadership to team

·         Able to make price and contract commitments on behalf of the organisation
