Work with VP, Sales to manage the process of identifying account level penetration opportunities and to prioritize lead generation opportunities to grow sales and profitability through continual focus on increased penetration, reduced account churn, Exclusive Brand (EB) conversion and identifying opportunities to reduce cost to serve.
Provide recommendations to sales leadership team on how best to allocate sales support and Specialist resources against highest growth opportunities.
Organize sales and category planning processes, effectively utilizing a cross-functional forum to discuss and prioritize sales opportunities and allocate resources, accordingly; deploy Restaurant Operations Consultant and dot.com Specialist resources against high-potential and other priority customers; work with Culinary Specialist Manager to ensure that all Specialists are effectively deployed against recommended opportunities.
Coordinate the SOS process, identifying ways to improve and streamline wherever possible and, working with the CSC and the VP, Sales, ensure immediate and appropriate responses to all SOS matters from the TMs.
Identify TM training needs and, working with the sales leadership team and the Sales Trainer, develop annual training plans and coordinate such training to address identified needs.
Lead and manage the sales support team, including managing recruiting to ensure that the team is adequately staffed to support TMs and identifying coaching needs and organizing training to improve the skill sets of the sales support team members.
Conduct annual performance reviews with team members, soliciting input from the VP, Sales and the RSMs to accurately assess performance.
Oversee tracking of key metrics associated with sales processes and growth initiatives and maintain focus on all KPIs, including net account growth, penetration, and ensuring a fully-staffed sales support team.
Education/Training: High School diploma required, college degree preferred.
Related Experience: Minimum of 5+ years experience managing a team of sales professionals. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proven experience and effectiveness in leading and managing others required. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organization and prioritization skills and the ability to work independently. A strong, solid understanding of sales processes is required, as is the ability to drive to analytical insight. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Previous US Foods' experience preferred.
