The Servicer Evaluation Group at SP Ratings Services assesses the operational capabilities of and assigns rankings to servicers handling residential mortgage, commercial mortgage, and asset-backed portfolios for securitized transactions and other investor types.

We are presently seeking a Director to perform reviews of servicer operations and participate as a senior member of servicer ranking committees. A Director participates in criteria discussions and identifies and updates ranking methodology and criteria standards. A Director will write and publish servicer reports, industry commentaries, and speak at industry conferences and events. A Director typically acts as a ranking committee chair and maintains the integrity of the ranking process.

Directors are the analytical liaison for the servicer client: assessing, answering and resolving client's questions that do not involve fee discussions, negotiations, or arrangements.

Main Responsibilities:

• Act as lead analyst responsible for on-site reviews of the servicers operation (that do not involve fee discussions, negotiations, or arrangements),
• Prepare and present committee materials to a ranking committee and publish reports related to the review.
• Analyze complex situations/data/information utilizing appropriate methodology, criteria factors, and standards.
• Participate in determining department strategy and priorities.
• Develop effective relationships with servicers, intermediaries, and investors.
• Train others within group on analytical matters and help them resolve difficult day-to-day situations.
• May also assist with special projects, provide further support and assist with the development of junior level team members, and periodically participate as a speaker at Standard Poor's-sponsored or other industry conferences.

Skills

• Possess an MBA with 7-10 years recent experience in the residential mortgage servicing industry. Asset-backed servicing industry experience a plus.
• Have a strong understanding of servicing methodologies and business environment including implications for SP's products and services.
• Monitor relevant market trends and remain knowledgeable and well informed on servicer industry and recent residential servicing market developments.
• Have a thorough knowledge of core servicing functions and solid understanding of prudent servicing practices and procedures.
• Have solid knowledge of servicing requirements within securitized transactions.
• Have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to undertake rigorous reviews of servicers and be proficient at writing related reports.
• Identify, hire, develop, motivate and retain analytical talent.
• Work effectively in a team-oriented, global, and multi-cultural environment.
• Offer constructive solutions to difficult or unusual situations.
• Willing to travel frequently (50-75%)
