Director, Software Development Job in New York 10801, New York US

Build and run a dev organization as a hands-on technology decision maker, owning a piece of what is shaping up to be a vast product space. Initially will have a backend/frontend team, frontend may have two components (mobile app and web app), ideally looking for someone to join the mgt team as thought leader to collaborate on a very large product buildout.

The specific dev organization for this position will likely be 20-25 full-time developers within a year (all reporting to this director; combined with the other two directors, expected team size is expected to approach 100 in that same timeframe).

  • Reporting to VP Software Development, working closely with Chief Product Officer, lead  develop software systems.
  • Oversee internal/external code reviews, third-party outsourced development teams.

  • 10+ years experience in an Agile development environment; developing Java, Oracle web apps

     

  • Proven ability to lead software development teams in an agile environment - product dev environment desired. BS, with advanced considered even better, things being equal.
