GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Designs, implements and directs the activities of a software quality assurance function. Develops quality standards for company products, oversees the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Establishes and maintains company policies relating to quality products and services. Facilitates product readiness assessments and approves all product releases. Directs pre-readiness and acceptance testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides strategic software testing management leadership for one or more large test teams and multiple complex software development projects in the eCommerce space, simultaneously.
- Lead multiple large projects of high risk spanning across functional teams.
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers.
- Manage activities of external vendors and suppliers as well as negotiate contracts.
- Develop, modify and execute test standards, methods, techniques.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years related experience; 7 years prior supervisory experience preferred. Advanced computer software skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinates; proven leadership ability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or related technical degree is required. Masters degree preferred.
- 12+ yrs of Software testing or development management experience with demonstrated success of leading teams of 25+ people.
- Highly motivated with a passion for technology and engineering.
- Result driven individual with track record of delivering products on time with the highest quality.
- Strategic thinker with vision and ability to see the big picture and make a sound decisions.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent understanding of various SDLC process including Agile development/testing.
- Proven ability to build relationships and manage cross-functional teams, International management experience preferred.
- Expert level of understanding of QA best practices, processes, tools, and metrics.
- Proven ability to lead large projects of high risk spanning across functional teams.
