Director, S&P Data Strategy & Operations recruitment
The purpose of this role is to lead a team of managers and staff, plan,prioritize and execute on projects and data processes, and interface with a variety of internal stakeholders and providers in order to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of data and related quality controls to support Standard Poor's ratings and commercial businesses.
The person selected for this role will manage staff in New York and London with possible expansion teams in other locations. The geographic coverage of transactions includes North America, Europe, Middle East and Australia and possible expansion of coverage to include Asia, Africa and South America.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage multiple data operation teams to support SP ratings and commercial businesses.
- Lead a team of onshore and offshore managers and financial analysts in a high-achieving , mission-driven atmosphere that is conducive to learning continuously and performing efficiently in order to produce high qualifty data as measured by the Data Quality program.
- Work with executives and managers in SP ratings and commercial business units to understand their business targets, requests, priorities and requirements, and work with them to deliver strategic data collection framework that will enable them to meet their business goals in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Partner with other shared services teams (IT, Project Management, Product Managment, Analytical groups), and be able to lead cross-functional teams to execute on Project deliverables and milestones. Present the pillars of Data Strategy Operations and provide data requirements, which includes extensive involvement int he design and testing of systems and capabilities required to manage data in a scalable manner.
- Work with the Customer Support function of SP to ensure Data Operations responds to Customer Queries, and troubleshoot as needed when there are issues. In addition, making Data Operations staff available to engage SMEs in pre-sales support activities.
- Perform management related tasks such as communication to the leadership and the organization on the success, challenges and breakthroughs of the data operations teams, the staff's performance management, staff meetings, monitoring and recruiting.
- Ensure teams deliver productivity improvements by effectively organizing teams using new technologies and using appropriate location strategies.
- Represent SP to external parties and speak at industry conferences.
Skills
The selected individual will possess the leadership qualities necessary to manage process and people. In addition:
- BA/BS in Business Management, Finance or related field
- 6+ years in financial data management experience
- Detailed knowledge (5+ years) in data domains such as Structured Finance, Corporate Governments
- Experience leading a team of individuals in day to day operations as well as projects that have business impact
- Experience understanding and resolving issues in cross functional teams and with executives and managers at all levels in the organization
- Detailed and Quality focused
- Ability to work with global and multi cultural teams
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Good operational skills and a strategic understanding of business and product requirements.
