POSITION SUMMARY The Director, Strategic Programs role is a senior position within the Strategic Programs Office, reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Programs. The SPO is responsible for providing internal consulting and project leadership roles for complex, high-visibility business initiatives in the US and Canada. This individual will provide business consulting, analytical support, implementation leadership, and vendor management support for complex enterprise projects. This person may lead a portfolio of initiatives with multiple projects occurring simultaneously. He or she will ensure timely and accurate completion of all team members assigned duties to meet the project and executive leadership s expectations. This person will manage and/or mentor junior project management staff. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Coordinate and implement large, complex projects comprised of cross-functional team members, ensuring timely delivery of projects and the quality of deliverables. - Evaluate, analyze, and define business opportunities, potential solutions, and possible impacts on the organization. - Develop detailed cost-benefit analyses for project implementation. - Propose and develop process improvements in different functional areas. - Track and communicate project performance for executive management and key stakeholders. - Develop working relationships with management and staff across all functional areas. - Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance on a continuous basis to junior project management staff and other project team members. May have formal management responsibility for junior SPO staff. Monitor workload of team members and provide feedback on individual and team performance. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Required: - A minimum of 5 years of business consulting or business project management experience - Bachelor s degree - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills Successful candidates will also have the following preferred skills: - MBA or other advanced degree - Knowledge of the insurance industry and business practices - Experience integrating business needs with technology capabilities - Willingness to mentor junior staff ACE offers a competitive salary plus cash bonus, equity opportunities and comprehensive benefits package including life, health and dental, vision, a generous retirement savings plan with company match, disability coverage, stock purchase plan, flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement.
