Director, Corporate Strategy Execution

Work with the corporate Management Team and functional, product, and regional leadership teams alongside Executive Director, Strategy Execution to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives, define measurable goals and accountabilities, and develop business plans

Job Attributes:

Responsible for working with each of the business lines, functions, product teams, regions, and executive leadership team to develop business plans to execute the overall Corporate Strategies and business objectives and for tracking the progress of each of these groups to ensure that CME will be able to deliver on its business priorities.

• Design and facilitate planning sessions with divisional management teams to identify and prioritize strategies and tactics

• Develop and manage dashboards for the tracking and management of execution of key initiatives

• Establish benchmark metrics to compare business and functional performance

• Identify gaps in proposed annual plans based on review of corporate and divisional priorities and develop action plans and accountabilities to address gaps

• Work closely with the Budget and Finance team as well as the project management team to ensure that the key initiatives align to the CME corporate strategies, are integrated into the budgeting process and that the business financial targets align to the CME's corporate financial objectives

• Work across the organization to ensure integration of initiatives, measurable targets and resource requirements

• Work closely with the Managing Director, Corporate Strategy and others in Finance Corporate Development Division to understand key corporate initiatives and their linkage with functional plans

• Work with functional, product and regional leadership teams to craft detailed business plans on key initiatives, and present those plans to the Management Team

Business Performance Tracking responsibilities include:

• Measure and track overall corporate achievement of dashboard items against both corporate strategies and corporate financial objectives, on a monthly basis

• Work with leadership teams to review progress against strategies, initiatives and goals, and facilitate decision-making to maximize progress on a regular basis

• Identify, communicate and escalate to functional leadership and management team, as appropriate, items requiring corporate attention and/or those that will meaningfully impact CME's ability to execute its strategic thrusts

• Refine dashboards and benchmark metrics based upon experience and identify gaps in CME's planning activities, organizational needs, growth opportunities, productivity or performance improvements, risks, etc. based upon this experience

• Work closely with the Corporate Strategy team and others in Business Development Strategy to drive execution lessons into development of future corporate strategies

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of business and/or consulting experience in a cross-functional, multi-product business, developing detailed implementation plans and tracking dashboards

• Experience working with senior leadership teams to identify and address strategic issues, frame key decisions and facilitate prioritization of initiatives

• Extensive process mapping experience across a wide array of business units

• Strong project management skills, with detailed understanding of finance, operations and corporate strategy, and an ability to build relationships with cross functional teams

• Strong financial analysis skills

• Substantial experience working with senior executives across a variety of functions, and an ability to build relationships across wide variety of levels within an organization

• Detailed experience working with functional organizations to craft specific measurable objectives, assigning clear accountability and timeline for delivery on those objectives

• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

• Strong critical thinking skills, with ability to ask key questions to get to the heart of the strategic issues

• Bachelors degree required, MBA or similar advanced degree preferred but substantial relevant experience could substitute

• International work experience a positive
