We are currently looking for a Director, Supply Chain for our Expeditionary Systems Group. This position will be located at our Solon, OH corporate offices.
Summary:
This leadership position is responsible for the integration of supply chain activities leading to optimal customer service, product supply, product quality, inventory investment, cost and consistent forecasting for all ESG locations (Buena Vista, VA, Geneva, OH, Solon, OH). The leader will supply vision, direction and leadership. The position will direct the supply chain process, and develop, implement and influence best practices in the discipline of supply chain management, forecasting, inventory, material contracts and vendor management across the entire company.
This position will also be responsible for the implementation of a "Best in Class" supply chain program standardizing our practices. The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for the development of the HDT Global Strategic Sourcing Strategy and the deployment of that strategy across the business.
The position will also be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of compliance by the company with the US Government Small Business Utilization Program. In this capacity, the Director of Supply Chain is appointed as the Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO).
Duties Responsibilities:
- Responsible for consolidation of the sales forecasting process across all locations
- Responsible for the overall management of the sales forecast data integrated into the FSSF Model on a daily basis
- Work with the Product Line Leaders to validate accuracy of sales forecasting. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with Product Line Leaders to vet the forecast
- Act as the liaison between Sales and Operations to align expectations for revenue and production. Ensure Sales has appropriate feedback and metrics that support forecast accuracy metrics to promote sales growth.
- Develops and executes the SOP strategy at all locations
- Lead executive SOP meetings that will process key decisions related to the business as well as monitor the effectiveness of the SOP processes (e.g. - monitor key process metrics such as sales forecasting accuracy, schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, inventory turns, on-time delivery, etc..)
- Work with Salesforce.com team to ensure SOP's (standard operating procedures) are maintained and followed
-Develop inventory management strategies to ensure maximum inventory turns and high quality and consistent support to customers and manufacturing operations
- Drive supplier improvement and on-time delivery
- Suggest alternative methods in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities. Cooperate with other top management personnel in establishing supply chain policies, procedures and goals.
- Work with manufacturing to rationalize outsourcing and in-sourcing opportunities
- Investigate alternative means of purchasing to help improve material efficiency, reduce cost, and increase throughput within the supply chain function
- Lead procurement function across the ESG, which will include developing purchasing policies and practices and upgrading the procurement to pay process (in partnership with Finance) in order to drive business benefits from our supplier base. Negotiate major purchase orders and/or contracts.
- Work closely with site General Managers to improve the effectiveness and service level of the procurement function (centralize functional management with decentralized co-location)
- Analyze data and identify facts that affect prices consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet schedules
- Communicate the Supply Chain strategy and status on a routine basis to upper management and peers
- Access procurement capacity on a continuous basis and provide recommendations to ensure adequate capacity in support of planned growth
- Interface with key customers when appropriate to develop better customer relationships
- Develop and implement Strategic Sourcing Strategy for HDT Global operations across all locations
Job Requirements:
Education experience:
BS in quantitative business/engineering disciplines
MS/MBA a plus
CPM, APICS and/or Six Sigma/Lean certified
10+ years of progressive responsibilities in inventory management, forecasting, purchasing for a manufacturing company
Experience with manufacturing principles including JIT, KANBAN, Demand Flow and Lean Manufacturing
Experience with MS Office
Proficiency with SAP
Demonstrated success at generating substantial purchasing savings, improving customer service and inventory turns
Experience in federal government contracting and subcontracting desirable
- Must be able to lead a diverse group of resources (30-50 direct/indirect reports) with the ability to reach across multiple disciplines of the business and coordinate these resources to a common goal
- Must have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to gain cooperation from peers and others
- Required to work at the Executive Level as well as at the Plant and Direct Sales level with each BU
- Must understand the overall business and how business is conducted at HDT Global
- This position must have in-depth knowledge of the business from Customer Relationship Management through Manufacturing and Order Fulfillment
