The fixed income institutional business focuses on alpha generation incorporating the niche assets mentioned above. This gives us a well-differentiated offering, consistent with the market's move towards best-of-breed, specialist management. Currently institutional assets are in both actively managed public bonds and private debt strategies managed in specialist teams. In fact these higher margin areas are increasingly being used in all portfolios.

Opportunity
This role is for an experienced fixed income professional to play a front-line role in marketing the institutional product offering of MG's institutional business to generate sales. The business has an exciting and developing array of debt related products including leveraged loans, property finance, project and infrastructure finance, a top flight alternative credit business as well as an impressive client list invested in more traditional bond mandates. In addition we have infrastructure and hedge fund businesses.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to MG's Head of Institutional Distribution, this role will involve working in a team to develop deeper relationships with potential clients. Across the team this may be via the UK investment consulting firms, but will also have a very significant element of furthering and initiating contact with self-invested pension schemes, insurance companies and potential clients in other channels, in order to identify business opportunities for MG. We already have three individuals covering this role in the UK, however the breadth of our offering now requires further high quality resource to deliver anticipated sales and may also require some sales activity outside the UK.
The role may also involve some client relationship work with large segregated fixed income clients
Key attributes
Extensive fixed income experience, preferably including portfolio management Predisposition to build and leverage a network both internally and externally Articulate Ability to handle complex financial products Willingness to work within a large team, covering some administrative tasks where necessary Commercial outlook Experience of the UK institutional market helpful.
This position may suit an individual who is currently involved in fixed interest investment management or sales, but who would like to include business development in their role.
