Structuring and Real Estate Group (SREG) is part of Long Term Credit Structuring and Real Estate Department providing lending through special situation deals to large and medium businesses in Russia
SREG is a product sales function responsible for the “cradle to grave” deal coordination process involving a client, bank’s senior management, credit committee, relevant interbank departments, external advisors and agents.
Position overview
We are looking to add a Director/VP level professionals to our team, who will work on the execution of deals in Russia and specifically in Moscow region.
The prospects will have a chance to advance his/her career in the 5th biggest Russian commercial bank and to be responsible for lending transactions with a strong emphasis on Real Estate.
Emphasizing the structuring the prospect may expect to work on the whole value chain of a deal life cycle through to a successful completion. We have significant deal flow and assets to finance
Responsibilities
• expand the headcount through bringing in and subsequent coaching of less experienced associates
• act in the capacity of a project manager and oversee transaction and integration activities, work on all aspects of the lending process and transaction structuring
• partner with key decision makers within the bank including a board member to effectively manage the process and related projects
• develop and communicate internal approval requirements through interaction with clients: negotiations on commercial terms of transactions, covenants and events of default, etc;
• assist in communicating the business case internally, supported by a long form term sheet and other materials necessary to source an approval, market context, business analysis and financial justification.
• work closely with legal and tax (both external and internal), risk and security/pledge departments, financial advisors, surveyors and loan servicers to bring deals to successful conclusion
• legal documentation negotiation and participation in drafting
• add to valuation and financial modelling within the team (performed by a separate unit)
Qualifications
• We are looking for an existing professional structurer / experienced recent MBA graduate to join expanding SREG and more broadly Corporate Lending team. Overall, the successful candidate should have a clearly demonstrated affinity to the world of finance (preferably real estate) and is ambitious, flexible and hard-working. His “go get it” attitude and relationship skills will make him to excel in a meritocratic world
• minimum of 3 years experience as an investment/commercial banking professional, a real estate corporate finance advisor, an investment analysts with an investment (real estate) funds
• strong knowledge of LMA standard, comprehension of both English and Russian law concepts
• broad complex deal experience (secured investment deals, project finance, hybrid/equity linked loans, mezz transactions, acquisition finance, lightly covenanted pre MA/IPO structures, etc) preferably from a dedicated Structuring/Real Estate Sector Team
• strong academics track record from a top university majoring in Finance/Economics or in any quantitative discipline
• demonstrated proficiency in business case analysis and knowledge of financial modelling
• excellent presentation and project management skills
• regulatory base knowledge (including 254-P, 110-I etc.) is a significant plus.
