Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

• Manage the Incident Management, Call Tree, Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) functions for Malaysia IT Hub (ITH).

• Manage DR function for 8 business units located in few Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines and Taiwan. Overall coordination of the Disaster Recovery Process. Develop arrangements and procedures that enable the business units to respond to a disaster and resume the critical business applications within a predetermined period of time.

• Serve as a facilitator and liaise with Incident Management Team, Business Management and DR Support Team during the BCM exercises.

• Ensure all staff with specific Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery responsibilities are familiar with their roles and responsibilities and adequately trained to fulfill their assigned responsibilities.

• Plan, coordinate and ensure that all technical components of the BC and DR plans are successfully tested and meet recovery time objective. Ensure documentation of the results of all tests and exercises, and identifying any recommended enhancements to the BC and DR Plans and Procedures.

• Manage and complete gap analysis for IT Disaster Recovery (DR) against best practices and standards, e.g. ISO standards and other clients’ regulatory guidelines with effective monitoring of actions to close gaps.

• Undertake technology risk and impact assessment, identifying single point of failure for IT Infrastructure, Systems and Applications, articulating risks, threats and vulnerabilities to the Business Continuity Committee and recommending steps to mitigate risks.

• Recommend sound solutions and strategies to build resilience within IT, with clear alignment between Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and IT DR Plan.

• Act as internal DR consultant to project teams providing advisory on disaster recovery requirements for new projects. Work with relevant stakeholders on existing Business-As-Usual activities to ensure tactical and operational issues pertaining to DR is addressed.

• Perform advanced training and education on resiliency and implement continuous improvement initiatives to mature the DR resiliency function across the group.

Qualification and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Studies or an equivalent

• At least 5 years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery or a related field

• Hands on work exposure to recovery technology and solutions

• Subject matter expert with IT DR skills, with exposure to outsourcing and / or insurance environment

• Professional certification in relevant industry qualification

• Crisis management exposure preferred

• Proven skills in managing complex business issues across multiple stakeholders and multiple geographies, coupled with project management experience

• Effective in working independently as well as on a team and able to take lead role in managing business continuity, incident management, information security/data privacy planning and implementation
