Dispatcher – Days
Dispatcher - Days - Monday to Friday
The People Bank Mississauga is currently looking for a Dispatcher for our client in the Transportation Industry. Our client is located in Brampton and this is a Monday to Friday position and will be responsible for smooth operations between 10:00am and 7:00pm.
The Dispatcher will report directly to the Dispatch Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate regularly with drivers and provide detailed pickup and delivery information
- Clearly identify shipment information, truck location, and trailer positioning through the dispatch board
- Ensure shipments are appropriately dispatched and assigned to trucks
- Meet or exceed customer service requirements by constantly reviewing and changing prioritization throughout the shift
- Proactively inform the Load Planner/Customer Service of any service failures
- Ensure that drivers do not exceed hours of service regulations
- Process all inbound drivers before finishing shift
Qualifications:
- Four or more years of experience in the Trucking/Transportation industry in a dispatch role or in an operational role working closely with dispatch
- Strong computer skills with Widows and the MS Office suite
- Previous experience with TruckMate will be considered an asset
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed post-secondary education
- Demonstrated initiative and confidence communicating with internal staff and customers
- Proven ability to produce at a high level even in high pressure situations
- Exemplary communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to assess and plan for delays and customer service issues
- Highly developed organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to take direction and learn quickly
