Description: The Center for Education, Training and Career Development (CETCD) houses the educational activities of the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI). CETCD is designed to provide multiple points of entry into the clinical and translational research training experience, regardless of current level of experience, disciplinary expertise, or professional setting (laboratory, clinic, or community). To develop and deliver innovative programs that educates students, fellows, faculty, staff, community providers and others in bi-directional translation to the benefit of our diverse, urban population and the nation
as a whole.

CETCD draws on the full faculty of USC and our CTSI partners to function as the focal point for developing and offering innovative education that provides the competencies needed for clinical and translational research in diverse, urban populations.

The Distance Education Operations Specialist will assist in the implementation of and technical support for distance learning activities for the Center for Education, Training and Career Development (CETCD) of the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute. He/she will provide distance education training and technical support for control room and post productions; provide training and support of instructional technologies for both portable and in studio classroom delivery of synchronous and asynchronous e-Learning Systems and services. The Distance Education Operations Specialist will edit programs as assigned, contributes to establishment and maintenance of software and documentation libraries as well as assist with evaluation and maintaining standards of quality in delivery of e-Learning Systems and services.

Minimum Education: High School or Equivalent with Specialized/technical training

Preferred Education:
Bachelors Degree; Specialized/technical training

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Minimum Field Expertise: Experience with capturing and delivering e-Learning Systems (via web and other electronic formats) and providing interactive conferencing set-up and support (web, phone, and audio/visual conferencing). Operations level experience with e-Learning Systems and services. Knowledge of support of instructional operations and technologies inside studio classrooms, such as computers, electronic boards, and other interactive conferencing technologies. Knowledge of computing environments and specific support for e-Learning hardware and software. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Media technology and Real Networks streaming services. TCIP/IP based networking and computer support and troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of networks and digitizing process. Knowledge of video and editing systems and processes.
