Distribution Manager
Vitrum Industries, a state-of-the-art glass fabricator located in Langley, BC is looking for a Distribution Manager. Vitrum Industries supplies fabricated glass products to the building, glazing and architectural industry throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Washington State. The job of a Distribution Manger is to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of product to customers. The chosen candidate will lead a team of 20 employees and manage a fleet of 15 vehicles. He or she will be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing at all levels of operation, monitoring staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and monitoring productivity and quality levels to ensure they meet standards.
Job Responsibilities
· Oversee and maintain stocking levels, organization and delivery of distribution product
· Ensure the scheduled maintenance, inspections and repairs of all company vehicles are conducted effectively and efficiently.
· Work with other departmental managers and the Plant Manager to ensure the most efficient work designs to meet internal and external customer requirements
· Provide sales with freight quotes and inquires.
· Make adjustments as necessary to the delivery schedule as required by the company and/or customer requirements
· Analyze and monitor fleet using Nero Tracking System and make appropriate improvements
Primary Skills
· Logistics strategies development to increase efficiency and cost reduction
· Project management and continuous improvement
· Effective leadership and management of Lead Hands and Team Leaders
· Effective deployment of assets and resource
· Establish best logistics practice and methods for delivering product
· Manage the delivery, purchasing and installation of fleet optimization and expansion
· Continuously research and optimize the logistics and distribution to ensure effective distribution
Minimum Experience Requirements
· The candidate will ideally have previous experience working in a production/manufacturing environment
· 5+ years of experience in logistics, shipping or distribution operations management
