Business Unit Overview:
The Aladdin trading and risk management system, used internally at BlackRock and by BlackRock Solutions clients, enables customers to manage over $5 trillion in financial assets. Aladdin is central to our technology strategy, unifying BlackRock by providing everyone with a common language and a central point of reference for our investment activities globally.
The Aladdin and Application Engineering teams within the Aladdin Technology group use the latest technologies to design and develop applications that make up the firm's investment management platform. The systems support the full lifecycle of the investment management process, from quantitative risk management to order entry, trade routing and settlement.
Team Overview:
The Distribution Solutions (DS) team's mission is to enable our distribution capabilities and drive client engagement through technology, information design, and process improvements that deliver our products, services, and brand promise to customers and prospects. More specifically the DS team creates and drives the vision, strategic development, implementation, and on-going support of Web, CRM Applications / tools across BlackRock businesses and regions. This team also manages client information and reporting systems and ensures reliable efficient management and access to those. The team in Asia Pacific is responsible for delivering website and CRM solutions working in close collaboration with Marketing, GCG (across all channels i.e. iShares, Retail and Institutional), Capital Markets, Product Development, PMG and Business Operations.
Role Description:
This is a challenging role, responsible for delivering Sales Marketing CRM and Web capabilities for the iShares ETF business in the Asia Pacific region. The position requires strong relationship building skills with the sales and marketing teams in order to influence and drive a more efficient sales process and client experience. This role requires a hands-on approach to lead CRM solutions getting heavily engaged in all aspects of the delivery and building a strategic roadmap that aligns with business objectives in the APAC region and our global CRM and Web strategy.
This role will be a part of the Distribution Solutions APAC relationship Management team and will work closely with other regions as well as the Product Management teams globally.
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for the identification, prioritisation and coordination of all CRM and selected Web projects as well as on-going BAU initiatives and understanding where global strategic technology platforms and capabilities can be leveraged or enhanced.
The ideal candidate is strategic but hands on, collaborative, pragmatic and consultative. He/she should possess the ability to identify opportunities to scale and leverage solutions across BlackRock's global platforms. He / she should easily be able to articulate complex concepts and solutions in a clear and compelling way. This to drive buy-in, garner prioritization and advocate the value-set across business stakeholders and delivery partners. Influencing skills are essential as this leader will indirectly manage (project) teams and will work in a dynamic global matrix organisation going through rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Business engagement
- Serve as the iShares relationship manager for DS, being the key Technology go-to person for Sales, Capital Markets, Marketing and COO for all CRM related matters as well as contributing to Web related initiatives.
- Consistently manage client expectations, ensuring delivery of the highest quality service by soliciting and acting on stakeholder and client feedback.
- Understand the business strategy, short long term goals and ensure projects and system requirements tie back to business benefits to deliver ROI.
Strategy
- Partner with internal groups and stakeholders to define and execute against sales and marketing objectives that grow the business.
- Partner with internal groups to help champion the strategic integration of our Digital, Data and CRM capabilities with channel-specific Technology initiatives, throughout all stages of the Client lifecycle.
- Key contributor to global Web / CRM strategy.
Measurement
- Ensure the continued development and growth by supporting the APAC iShares business, in defining, prioritising and coordinating key Technology initiatives
- Enable development of the sales CRM system, Web and additional applications as well as alignment/integration with other BlackRock systems, identifying opportunities to improve user experience, data quality, processes and systems
- Lead all efforts to maintain and evolve the Group Database Marketing systems, facilitating the delivery of aggressive marketing campaigns
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking process to ensure all initiatives are set against measurable (and shared) objectives.
- Build on the reporting capabilities to support sales management and marketing campaigns and drive greater client experience awareness with sales and marketing managers
- Provide business intelligence and client insight tools that can inform decision-making within Sales and Marketing.
Operational excellence
- Understanding of BAU processes and ability to escalate issues within it.
- Scope and management of large technical enhancements in partnership with platform, technology teams and external vendors
- Adherence to and Technology accountability for all legal, compliance and audit requirements.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong technical background in CRM applications, business intelligence tools, data integration and application architecture. Knowledge of salesforce.com preferred
- Strong background in digital marketing and communications.
- Experience in the Investment Management industry is preferred.
- Technical, Marketing degrees/professional qualifications or MBA .
- Strong relationship management skills, diplomacy, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as a team leader and player.
- Proven experience defining successful CRM and Web solutions and demonstrable ability to deliver complex projects in a global matrix environment.
- Significant experience leading and coordinating multiple work streams
- Must be a 'voice of innovation'; constantly pushing internal stakeholders and own team to new opportunities, approaches, ideas and perspectives.
- Deep understanding for how data and analytics can be used to create and solve hypothesis and meet ROI / Business objectives.
- Exceptional written, verbal and creative communication skills including excellent story telling skills with the ability to develop impactful executive presentations.
- Self starter who can operate independently and under tight timelines.
- A true team player who can work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Travel required.
