About the job:
Edward Don and Company seeks a Distribution Center Supervisor for the 2'nd shift at its Corporate North Riverside, IL location.
About the Position:
This position supervises and coordinates activities of approximately 30-40 workers on second shift concerned with proper shipping to all customers to include proper inventory of supplies and equipment and warehouse.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent from four-year College; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position requires solid understanding of Distribution Operations.
Proficiency with MS Office required for reporting and analysis
Essential Duties:
Determines hours required to complete assignments within prescribed goals.
Prepares work schedules and assigns specific duties in order to properly fill and load customer orders onto trucks designated for local and long-haul delivery areas.
Manages activities through use of warehouse control labor systems and continual direct follow up.
Ensures proper use of company property/machines.
Coaches and trains warehouse workers in various aspects of warehouse operations such as proper use of RF Technology, correct picking procedures, avoidance of mis-picks and overall productivity.
Records and reviews productivity and performance levels to improve efficiency of the operation.
Examines work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures; enforces labor standards.
Enforces all safety standards and sanitation control.
Disciplines workers according to company rules and regulations.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
Must be detail oriented, flexible and dependable.
