Position profile

Our client is looking for the right District Manager for its Edmonton territory. In this role, you would drive business by establishing and implementing winning corporate strategies, leading a team of extraordinary sales and service representatives, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of 10-12 retail branches.

In addition to an amazing 3-month training and onboarding program, your efforts and development will be actively supported by the Operations Senior Leadership Team, Market Manager, your fellow District Managers, Market Trainers and our client’s Human Resources department. Your success will greatly depend on your personality, your strategies, your ability to manage stores, your knowledge of the Edmonton market and your talent for reading and relating well to others.

 

Additional responsibilities include

§  Overseeing all aspects of daily operations within 10-12 stores including staff, systems, service, operational and store security, expenses, accounting, reporting, inventories, assets, and regular store visitations and audits;

§  Implementing corporate strategy within the Edmonton district by assessing needs, positioning offerings, setting goals, motivating Store Managers and promoting optimal performance;

§  Working with HR and Market Trainers to effectively direct employee training, coordinate the recruitment of Managers and store staff, and ensure that employees meet the highest management standards and levels of customer service;

§  Proactively developing business by implementing marketing strategies, identifying and qualifying prospects, conducting B2B sales calls, developing your business network, and maintaining cooperative relationships with agencies, affiliates and members of the Edmonton business community;

§  Analyzing business segment opportunities, forecasting sales results and developing budgets and quotas for the sales team;

§  Conducting regular District Manager Meetings (at least one per quarter).

 

Qualifications

§  An excellent judge of character who has the confidence and tact to comfortably deal with diverse personalities, lead by example, inspire loyalty, make decisions and “gut” calls, and negotiate through confrontations to identify solutions.

 

Requirements

 

§  Bachelor degree or college diploma with courses in Business Management are strongly preferred (educational minimum is high school diploma); 

§  Minimum of 5 years of experience and documented success in strategic sales to medium and large business segments;

§  Minimum 3 years of previous management experience working within a multi-unit organization;

§  Minimum 2 years of practical management experience as a Store Manager;

§  Ability and willingness to be available and/or work extra hours when necessary (not strictly 9-5 hours).

§  Ability and willingness to regularly travel from store to store to supervise operations on-site (though you will also have an office);  

§  Excellent interpersonal, communication, motivational, team building and customer service skills as well as strong analytical skills;

§  Energy, enthusiasm, personality, entrepreneurial spirit and a great work ethic.
