PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for achieving sales, profit, market share and managing to a PL for a division of AMO business within an assigned geography. Provides leadership and direction to the field sales personnel to ensure execution of the AMO Strategic plan. Supports and assist with implementation of all training efforts to enhance field productivity and consultative selling skills. Responsible for managing assigned VIP’s, contract execution and customer interface of assigned National/Regional Corporate accounts. Interfaces with key customers, opinion leaders and assists field sales personnel in the development of key customers to successfully meet the customers needs and influence the market place. Works closely with the Corporate Account Director/Manager and Training Manager to ensure coordination of sales strategies to ensure successful implementation and
optimal leveraging of Corporate resources. This position is responsible for recruitment, deployment and development of field sales personnel.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

The District Manager ensures achievement of sales and profit objectives; provides leadership and direction for all team members and exhibits leadership/management support of AMOs matrix management environment within the assigned geographical area for AMO. Develops leads and motivates a sales team. Oversees personnel development and succession planning to maximize results and ensure regional sales team development and continuity. The District Manager is accountable for recruitment of field sales personnel and responsible for managing assigned National Accounts, V.I.P. Accounts, and product champions to ensure optimal ROI for AMO. This position is responsible for all aspects of assigned accounts which includes, relationship building, contract negotiations, contract execution and implementation. Efficiently manages area resources including District sample budget of Revitalens and Blink Tears. Manages area budgets within assigned budget parameters. Ensures maximum ROI for use of corporate resources such as programs, innovative education programs. Ensures execution of established Marketing plan within assigned district.

Directs field sales activity with Corporate Optometry accounts and assist in deploying strategies to drive field execution. The District Manager, when needed will assist Area Director with District /Regional and National meetings. This to include content development and facilitation.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
Reporting relationships for the District Manager position include managing the TMs within district. The District Manager is expected to work closely with team in a capacity that includes specific account targeting, analyzing AMO contract(s). Product responsibility includes Contact Care Solution and dry eye products. The District Manager works with an assigned budget (TE, Samples), similarly a sales quota for all the SBU products. The District Manager position reports to an Area Director, and beyond this direct reporting relationship, the District Manager will have responsibility for working with their peers in each of the other business units of AMO. Primary contacts are the AMO customers within their districts, including, VIP targets that they are assigned or that they will be expected to develop relationships with over time. Internal customers are equally important in scope and responsibility range from Sales Operations, Marketing, Sales Training, Human Resources Accounts Receivable.

Midwest Region covers Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

Minimum of 3-5 years as a successful pharmaceutical / consumer or nutritional sales representative. Eye Care experience is preferred, but not required. Position demands excellent leadership skills, and proven ability to train both new and tenured representatives. Must have participated in preceptor ships/training for forecasting, performance management, and have a working knowledge/ application of Excel/ Word and Power Point documents. Experience as a Field Sales Trainer is desirable.
