District Manager

Job Description JOB SUMMARY : AECOM is currently seeking a District Manager for its Environmental Business Line operations located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US covering Metro District of Columbia and Maryland. This position will report to the Vice President of AECOM's Mid-Atlantic Region Environmental Business. The District Manager will be responsible for the overall management of an Environmental operation of over $15 MM per year. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES : May include but not be limited to the following: Leadership and Strategic Direction - Establish and maintain an effective district organizational structure that aligns with the broader region and business line - Create culture of excellence consistent with AECOM's Purpose Core Values - Lead implementation for proactive management of AECOM's Quality Management System and Safety, Health and Environment Program. Operations Management - Manage the overall financial performance of the operation including: execution of the goals of the fiscal Operating Plan including growth, profitability, and cash flow performance objectives - Work with regional leadership team on employee development efforts including: recruitment and staff retention, succession planning, employee recognition and engagement, development, mentoring and review of management team, and employee training and staff development - Ensure high quality project delivery by proactively managing performance risk, identifying challenges and implementing corrective measures, monitoring and improving quality in accordance with the Quality Management System, supporting practice and client leaders, and ensuring regular project reviews Business Development - Work with regional and business line team on business development efforts and support global business development efforts to provide profitable growth of AECOM's Environmental business - Lead/support strategy development and management of key accounts, client relations, sales, proposal development, pricing and contract negotiation efforts for the district - Effectively coordinate and collaborate with the other district leaders across the Mid-Atlantic region - Actively participate in and foster cross Business Line initiatives EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related Technical and/or Business discipline, with an advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred. Professional registration or licensure in at least one State in the district preferred. Certification and experience in project management is a plus. EXPERIENCE: 15+ years of related experience, including 10+ years in a managerial role. Documented experience managing large US Federal programs and accounts.
