We are currently looking for the salaried position of District Manager to join our team.
The position will manage a team of Sales Leaders and Sales Associates located in multiple malls throughout a defined geographic location. It will be responsible for final interviewing and hiring of the Sales team, managing all aspects of their training, scheduling and execution of performance standards, completion of all reports and overall performance to goal.
It will require serving as the main point of contact for the Sales Leaders who provide the daily support and management of each mall based location.
The District Manager will:
- Ensure that all Sales Team members are trained on the selling standards, customer engagement expectations, performance standards, and standard operating procedures; includes ensuring that new hire orientations and training is completed
- Collaborate with the recruiting department to ensure staffing levels are maintained with qualified individuals
- Interview potential new hires as needed
- Conduct regular in-market visits at mall locations ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and goals (requires approximately 70% travel)
- When staffing levels drop below desired levels the District Manager will provided needed coverage at the location until staffing can be resumed with the mall sales team
- Establish and maintain business relationships with mall management, ensuring we are meeting all requirements established by the mall.
- Communicate effectively to Director of Retail Operations including territory summary reports, identification and timely communication of potential location issues, tracking metrics for performance of sales teams, conference calls, and establishing individual and team goals
- Launch and support all new locations. Support needed changes to existing locations
- Provide input and help grow footprint of locations in defined District
- Financial acumen to support and control; labor cost, mall conversion rates, basic expense control etc...
- Provide support for additional projects outside of mall locations as defined by the Director of Retail Operations
The candidate's success will be measured against:
- Working closely with the Director of Retail Operations and communicating regularly regarding reporting and tracking performance metrics to goal
- Expense control and adherence to all company policies
- Ensuring that all team initiatives (weekly and ongoing) are properly prioritized
- Administrative maintenance of personnel roster, scheduling, payroll, etc.
- Passion for sales and the ability to be hands on at locations to lead by example
- Decision-making skills and the ability to reason and take action in resolving problems while exhibiting professional sound judgment
- Leadership skills and the ability to build morale and motivate field based teams to achieve program goals and objectives
- Effective presentation skills along with strong verbal and written communication and the ability to state issues in a concise, solution driven manner
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred or related field with three or more years of experience in a retail management or related field
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Outgoing professional personality with the ability to build relationships quickly
- Reliable daily transportation to travel within your District
- Maintain flexible work hours (weekends and evenings required) as our business is retail driven
- Regular travel required within the respective District - Travel by plane is a requirement
- Home office space with broadband Internet connectivity required
- Excel skills should include but are not limited to: Pivot tables, charts, graphs, formulas
- Strong computer skills utilizing the internet, email and Microsoft Office Suite
