District Sales Manager
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is an international biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of proprietary drugs based on prostones. Prostones are a class of compounds that occur naturally in the human body as a result of enzymatic, 15-PGDH, transformation of fatty acids.. Using proprietary technologies, our company is developing treatments for a variety of ophthalmology, gastrointestinal, respiratory, vascular and central nervous system diseases and disorders for which there are unmet or underserved medical needs and significant long-term market opportunities.
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an international pharmaceutical company with a product already on the market, is looking for a District Sales Manager. The primary responsibility of a Sales Manager position is to lead a district to achieve all assigned goals and maintain compliance with Sucampo’s policies that govern field sales activity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead district sales force activities including: hiring, training, development, performance evaluation, and compliance to corporate policies.
- Accountable for delivering assigned sales goals and aligning field activities to the strategic initiatives of the brand.
- Coaches the selling process and ensures that appropriate clinical information is shared with customers and that they are moved along the call continuum.
- Partner with Sales Operations to affect the data input and analysis of physician and other customer profile information to ensure appropriate resources are deployed within the district.
- Responsible for setting clear expectations.
- Responsible for ensuring that each member of the team is aware of and adheres to company and industry compliance guidelines and policies.
- Responsible for allocating and managing district budget.
- Build and sustain relationships with district Key Opinion Leaders.
- Partner with National Regional Account Managers to develop appropriate business strategies that support the brand objectives in the managed markets segment.
- Establish and develop cross-functional partnerships and leverage resources across the district and home office to influence customer behavior.
- Set clear expectations for utilization of approved promotional programs and monitors performance.
- Communicate competitive market intelligence to brand teams and management.
All positions require: :
- 4-Year Degree Required; BS in Science preferred;
- 5+ years sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with a preference for prior sales management experience and tenure within another functional area to include national accounts, training, medical affairs, marketing and government affairs.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to manage a district’s vision and purpose that is consistent with corporate imperatives and revenue targets.
- Possess strong presentation, organization, administrative and communication skills.
- Project professional and polished impression.
- Model highest level of professional behavior and ethics.
- Familiar with trade relations, reimbursement environment, government programs, managed care, formulary, marketing, sales analytics and contract negotiation.
