District Sales Manager
The District Sales Manager is primarily responsible for leading, directing and managing all activities of the sales team in the district. The District Sales Manager is responsible for leading his/her teams to the achievement of established revenue goals by insuring specific individual and team goals are met and expenses are managed in a fiscally responsible manner. The District Sales Manager will participate in national, regional, and local strategic meetings, as well as, lead meetings with their respective teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Note: Other duties may be assigned)
- Achieve all performance goals and objectives as established by the Regional Director of Sales and Senior Management
- Meet or exceed revenue target per assignment.
- Meet or exceed service/product mix goals for the District to ensure company profit targets are met
- Provide field coaching to sales representatives through ride along customer visits 3 of more days/week
- Provide communication and motivational programs to insure that members of the sales and client service teams are focused on delivering the expectations of the customer.
- Reinforce customer focused values to direct reports as well as support functions in Carlsbad
- Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with all direct reports to monitor sales performance on a weekly basis,
- Provide swift counseling/corrective action plans when revenue targets are not met
- Identify Key Accounts within the district, suggest custom service/support levels to further develop business opportunity with the account
- Participate, as requested, in internal meetings to update progress and suggest positive solutions to specific issues and/or opportunities
- Initiate staffing, hiring, and training of field sales team
- Minimize turnover through selection process
- Provide performance feedback to all direct reports
- Conduct ongoing discussions and documentation
- Prepare annual performance appraisal
- Provide opportunities for personal and professional growth within the sales organization.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated team building skills, ability to lead cross functional teams to meet and exceed business objectives
- Competitive spirit, highly accountable
- Exceptional business and personnel judgment
- Solid analytical skills, proven ability to create and execute and monitor business plans in a systematic process
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and PC based CRM software
- Demonstrated professional and personal integrity, an individual that leads by example
Education and/or Experience
- 4 year B.S/B.A. level degree from an accredited institution. MBA encouraged but not required
- 4+ years of successful sales experience in oncology/diagnostics
Travel
- Position may require up to 50% overnight travel
- Valid drivers license is required for the position
