POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Division VP and working in conjunction with the VP Finance Controller, the Division Controller is responsible for providing operational leadership, management, and support to all Branches in their adherence to controls, accounting, processes and administrative aspects in the Division.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Division Controller performs some or all of the following duties:
Leadership
· Provides leadership and work direction to Division Admin Manager, Contract and Fleet Administrators
· Improves performance and assures management success by training, coaching, motivating, and evaluating employees
· Implementation and management of division’s key performance indicator dashboard
· Ensures complete customer satisfaction and promotes quality customer service
· Ensures customer service calls from client and suppliers are handled efficiently
· Assist sales team with risk management and evaluation of customer terms and conditions
· Annual review of supplier competitive pricing, terms and conditions to meet Company policies
Accounting
· Conducts analytical review of divisional performance and results to budget, for monthly management reporting, forecasting, accruals and actuals
· Manages the administration of the billing and payables process
· Manages and enforces collection of accounts receivable to be within agreed to tolerances
· Involvement in the credit approval process and accounts receivable adjustments
· Oversees the administration of Sales Commission claims and ensures application in accordance with agreed to Plans
· Works with Division VP in setting the budget on an annual basis
· Assists with acquisitions, due diligence and integration processes when required
Asset Management
· Reviews monthly divisional matrix to ensure accuracy of fleet count and utilization
· Manages fleet maintenance costs, inventory control and product quality
· Safe-guards company assets by ensuring proper adherence to all administrative and operational processes, procedures and policies
· Performs ongoing fleet analysis to ensure optimal capital allocation within the division
· Assists in ensuring customers and vendors provide current insurance certificates
· Reconciles fleet inventory, as well as parts and value added product inventory, from actual to systems tracking
Process Improvement
· Regularly offers process improvement ideas, shares best practices and facilitates standardization among branches and with other divisions
· Ensures month-end divisional accounting processes are followed and divisional results comply with the company’s accounting policies
· Ensure compliance with corporate policies and promotion of employee health, safety and environmental standards
· Conducts branch audits, recommends corrective actions and assists with training where appropriate
· Interact with IT group to ensure existing SAP system and proposed changes meet the needs of the Division
· Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
· Professional accounting designation (preferably CA)
· 3+ years management experience in accounting or an accounting related role is necessary
· Experience in managing, leading and interacting with a group of professional accountants
· Computer literate including an understanding of accounting programs and Microsoft applications
· Advanced excel knowledge
· SAP experience preferred
· Must be fluent in English both oral and written
