Burrtec Waste and Recycling Services is the largest refuse hauler in the Coachella Valley.  It is a family owned company that firmly believes the key element to our success is knowing how important each employee is in the organization.  We are currently seeking the following position for our Coachella Hauling Division:

 

Division Manager

Under the direction of the Regional Manager, the Division Manager will be responsible for fostering a work environment based on teamwork and open communication. Oversee all activities related to operations of the Coachella facility including accountability for providing excellent customer service, drive productivity, promote safety, and manage all cost controls that are in accordance with company policies and standards in addition to compliance with regulatory agencies (DOT/OSHA). 

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILL:           

·        Minimum of five (5) years experience in a management position involving transportation,    operations  and customer service in the solid waste industry 

·        Must be bilingual in Spanish/English

·        Strong maintenance background a plus

·        Must have strong organizational skills and ability to motivate large groups.

·        Must be able to objectively assess performance and listen carefully to all team members

·        Must have good decision making, problem solving and communication skills.

·        Must be able to establish strong and effective working relationships with people inside and outside the division.

·        Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion. 

·        Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

·        Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and the ability to learn and use company specialized applications.

RESPONSIBILITY:                    

·         Responsible for fostering work environment based on teamwork and open communication

·         Organizes the division and determines the allocation of duties for Route and Shop Supervisors. 

·       Continually focuses on management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, employee development, and training and safety standards.

·        Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.

·        Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.

·        Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.

·        Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.

·        Must maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure the adequate hiring and training of all personnel.

·        Ensures location is in compliance with all regulatory agencies and statues including the DOT and OSHA requirements.

·        Will be accountable for the overall service, productivity, and safety of all personnel and the lawful operating condition of company vehicles. 

·        Monitors and controls administrative costs and oversees all functional areas. 

·        Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.

·        Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.

·        Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.  Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

·        Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.

·        Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.

·        Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.
