Division Operations Controller Job in Peachtree City 30269, Georgia US

 

Under the general guidance of the Vice President, Finance Planning, the Operations Controller is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all accounting functions and financial procedures for the manufacturing locations.  The Operations Controller is accountable for the analysis of manufacturing costs and preparation of forecasts budgets.   This position also directly assists the Vice President, Operations in financial matters and special projects.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 1.         Under the general guidance of the Vice President Finance Planning this position is responsible for the development of timely and pertinent financial data and the development of appropriate interpretive analysis with viable alternative action recommendations for use by management in strategic and operational domestic and international planning and decision making. 

2.         Under the general guidance of the Vice President, Finance Planning this position is responsible for the development of procedures designed to afford maximum control in all accounting operations and accurate and consistent financial planning and reporting.

 

3.         Responsible for the continually and monitoring and directing the analysis and interpretation of financial and operating reports for internal and external use in order to provide relevant information for use in management decision making. 

 

4.         Under the general guidance of the Vice President, Finance Planning is responsible for the development of information requested by Corporate management and work with the office of the Corporate Controller to ensure that division accounting, control,   and budget policies and procedures comply with Corporate guidelines and objectives.  

 

5.         Provides direct financial support for V.P. Operations, including manufacturing support, variance analysis, productivity review, capital justification analysis, and inventory analysis.

 

6.         Ensures that the proper financial systems are in place to ensure the integrity of financial controls as well as supporting financial reporting requirements.

Job Requirements:

Advanced Degree in Accounting preferred

 

8-10 years Accounting Management experience in an Operations environment; Prior Cooper Industries experience highly desirable

 

Proven knowledge and successful application of Mainframe and PC based financial systems

 

CPA highly desirable
