Job Description
- Eliciting business requirements from stakeholders, analyzing, documenting and prioritizing them
- Managing requirements change and maintaining requirements traceability
- Working with stakeholders in ensuring the needed level of research is completed to accurately define the solution benefits and risks
- Working with technical teams to validate proposed solutions
- Effectively presenting the information needed to facilitate a decision to move forward with the proposed solution
- Performing the required analysis to ensure the impact of the new requirements and of the proposed solution are fully understood (new roles and responsibilities, process changes, client impact etc)
- Working with technical teams, business users and support teams to facilitate definition of new operating model and identification and documentation of process changes as a result of the new reporting requirements
- Ensuring implementation of solution is appropriately planned (deliverables are defined with adequate milestones, responsibilities are understood, work is budgeted and resourced)
- Tracking implementation of solution through to completion (status reporting on milestones, management of risks and issues)
Desired Skills Experience
- Significant experience in business analyst roles in major financial institutions
- ISEB, IIBA or IREB qualifications in Business Analysis e.g. ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, CBAP
- Strong relationship skills
- Strong communications skills
- Able to organise own work to time and schedule
- 3+ years working experience in Capital Markets
- 2 years+ Business Analysis experience
- Understanding Investment Bank Operations environment and business processes
- Working knowledge of all investment banking products – OTC Derivatives, Listed Derivatives, FX, Equity, Fixed Income
- Awareness of Front-to-Back processing: trading, clearing, settlement, financial accounting, risk
- Experience of requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation
- Experience of requirements management and planning
- Understanding of finance and regulatory landscape
- Ability to understand differing processes and terminology in different markets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of the systems development lifecycle
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Willing to work long hours if required to meet deadlines
