Domain Consultant – Payments is a senior member of the Domain Consulting Group within Banking Financial Services Business Unit.
As Domain Consultant for Payments you will have extensive experience of the Payments Industry in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Experience in managing both IT and Business Operations strategy will be instrumental in driving successful opportunities with Payments clients and Partners.
The Domain Partner will liaise with CXO’s in the client organization to understand their business strategy, challenges and provide robust and sustainable payments solutions. Domain Partner, through his/her industry thought leadership; experience and skills will position Wipro as a transformational partner and drive Wipro’s participation in the strategic programs of the client.
The role will closely work with the Client partner and Account team for Wipro’s large strategic accounts and he/she will be required to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive business opportunity and growth in the relevant accounts.
The primary focus with customers will be to understand business problems, provide relevant solutions deliver these solutions effectively. The Domain Consultant is expected to identify and qualify new domain led opportunities with the client to meet revenue expectations and ensure that budgets, profitability and timelines for such client projects are achieved.
As part of the account leadership team, the Domain Partner will share ownership and accountability for the successful execution of domain led engagements together with program managers and account teams.
Responsibilities
• Drive account growth strategy in Payments for the designated Bank customer, in collaboration with client partner and account leadership team
• Bringing Payments Industry experience/inputs to the Client- Engage with client stakeholders, lead proactive solutions on areas of industry focus and create a Payments strategy road map.
• Provide a Payments advisory role to the Client Relationship Managers and Program Managers on assigned account.
• Trusted partner for client CXOs from domain side. Engaging them on driving business solutions
• Understand clients current business landscape and propose a pointed business proposition solving their business problems.
• Identify and understand future industry initiatives including Regulatory compliance requirements.
• Prepare opportunity and solutions for clients to meet industry challenges.
• Manage expectations and alignment between client teams and stakeholders
Knowledge Skills
In-depth knowledge of the Payments Operations, Industry dynamics and Regulatory drivers for Banks will be the primary requirement for this role. The role holder should have in-depth understanding of various business processes within Payments in Banking.
• Strong understanding of the payments business processes and the end to end payments service chain.
• Good understanding of the regulatory changes driving the future of payments.
• Strong understanding of technological drivers for change in payments – such as competition, consolidation, message standards, mobile payment and mass payment capability.
• Strong knowledge of current and future payments standards - knowledge of messaging standards of European ACH, RTGS, SWIFT and Payments gateways will be prefered.
• Deep understanding of recent and upcoming change in the European payment landscape, impacts of the industry and business solutions being positioned.
• Good understanding of technology vendors and products.
Experience
• 15+ years’ experience in the Banking industry with specific Payments roles.
• At least 10 years of experience working either in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Global Bank in the UK or Europe, or with a large consulting organization servicing Retail and Corporate Banks. Experience should be in either a consulting role or an operations delivery role involving leadership, strategy and industry experience. Particular experience in delivering transformation programmes and core payment programs will be beneficial.
• Proven Payments domain expertise, and a network of senior contacts in the payments market.
• Experience in selling and driving large transformational programs
• Experience with global delivery.
• Proven ability to launch and execute successful initiatives in complex and challenging environments.
• Excellent client presence and proven client relationship building capability; willing to provide senior / top level client references
• Excellent academic credentials from top tier programs - B.A. / B.S/ B.Tech required, MBA strongly preferred. Alternatively the equivalent proven experience within the Banking industry within senior roles.
• Powerful verbal / written / communication / networking skills.
• Experience in motivating and leading multi-cultural, cross functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Willingness to be onsite at a client location and able to travel to support the needs of the business.
• Preferable would have participated/contributed in industry seminars conferences.
• Must have the capability to operate at all levels of detail, ensure quality of deliverables and inject creativity in proposals.
