Solution Specialists are Solution-Focused Pre-Sales Technical Sales Resources targeted at related Large Enterprise opportunities.

Solution Specialists (SSs) have deep expertise in Enterprise solution areas and their business drivers. Their focus is to help account Teams increase sales of Dell Enterprise Solutions by delivering technical expertise for strategic opportunities.

The Storage Solution Specialist is a deep technical expert that is responsible for leading and managing Storage opportunities to current and acquisition customers in Large Enterprise segment. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and implementation of technical sales strategies, delivery of technical presentations, product demonstrations, customer training, and support for customer product evaluations or proof of concepts.

Responsibilities:

To achieve targeted and forecasted sales goals for the storage business in the segments/regions of responsibility

Storage consultative Selling with Storage workshop

Engage with the management of your respective country/region/segment on storage sales performance and required target account action plans.

Contribute to regular account and opportunity planning sessions to develop clear account strategies, value propositions, tactics and actions to drive incremental sales of Dell Solutions

Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the sales org. to meet and/or exceed their objectives on Solutions

o Data Management/Tiering / BURA discussions

o Business Continuity/Data Availability discussions

o Storage architecture/infrastructure discussion (SAN/NAS/DAS)

o Storage Cloud Discussions

o Be lead on Best Value Solutions with the storage area

o Storage Consolidation and Virtualization discussions

o Storage related application Performance discussions

o Storage Management solution discussions

o Storage related networking

o RFP Strategy consultation and customer panel presentations.

Keep up to date with current industry trends and fully assess the impact on Dell customers and potential customers

Actively engage and report back to EMEA/Dell central functions on about market trends, storage solutions opportunities and challenges,

Actively engage solutions partners and channel partners in customer opportunities where that is appropriate to win the customer case.

Represent Dell in an appropriate professional, ethical and competent manner

Deliver exceptional customer experience in alignment with Dell standards and ethics

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: University Graduate or academic working knowledge
At least 5+ years in a related pre-sales/support role with a heavy storage focus
Excellent knowledge of competing solutions
Viewed as a trusted subject matter expert to the customer and uses knowledge of Dells Hardware and services to recommend appropriate solutions
Project/program management experience (Not certified Project Mgr)
Comfortable in presenting up to the CxO level
Self-starter - good internal motivation for self-directed time and activities. Must be willing to treat the opportunity as their own franchise
Leads the virtual team to meet key deliverables / targets, customer experience, revenue and profitability as required
Takes the lead as an escalation point for issues that impact on delivery and the customer experience
Business and technical acumen - stay abreast of industry developments and can identify and analyze trends
Drive for results - demonstrates high personal work standards and takes ownership for quality and timing of work
Technical and communication Skills - Very strong analytical skills coupled with an ability to summarize results for clear and effective communications.
Priority Setting - Spends time to understand impact of each task and is quick to identify most critical projects / tasks. Clearly communicates priorities to all parties and deliver to that plan.
Dealing with ambiguity - quick to recognize situations where change is needed. Is able to quickly switch focus and is comfortable with risk. Is able to start work with basic outlines and is able to fill in requirements during the development process
Strategic agility - challenges himself/herself and team to constantly look for new approaches and sales techniques to achieve success
