Summary

Responsible for DOT related functions to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards

 

Functional Responsibilities

·         Oversee District DOT functions

·         Ensure that DOT Drivers hold proper operating licenses and current medical certifications

·         Ensure that Driver Logs are properly prepared and retained for a period of six (6) months

·         Ensure that vehicle inspections are being properly prepared and retained for a period of six (6) months

·         Ensure that all Company vehicles are properly registered

·         Maintain training materials and manuals to ensure compliance with DOT regulations

·         Audit log books, and ensure DOT compliance with hours of service

·         Review and process all driver and vehicle violations to ensure accurate reporting with FMCSA/CSA 2010 reporting

·         Ensure all vehicles are legally operational with required licenses, permits, certifications, and insurance

·         Ensure that DOT Drivers hold proper operating licenses and current medical certifications

·         Ensure that Driver Logs are properly prepared and retained for a period of six (6) months

·         Ensure that vehicle inspections are being properly prepared and retained for a period of six (6) months

·         Responsible for obtaining overweight permits and ensure that all DOT vehicles are listed and updated on the insurance certificate

·         Ensure that all IFTA vehicles are IFTA licensed and decaled

·         Maintain vehicle maintenance files and retain accordingly

·         Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Education/Experience – 1-2 years of college (Safety or related field) from a 4 year college or university; or 6-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience   

·         Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents such as financial reports and/or legal documents. 

·         Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from managers, customers or regulatory agencies. 

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to management

·         Mathematical Skills - Intermediate Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts

·         Reasoning Skills - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to solve practical problems with a variety of abstract and concrete variable

·         Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office

·         Must be able to travel  to North Dakota

·         Understands apportion/plate process
