Overview:
The Depositary Receipts (DR) Group forms part of the broader Global Equity Services business, which in turn is part of the Global Transaction Banking Division.
DRs are a means for non-US companies to raise their profile with US international investors, make their shares more easily available and raise new capital outside the domestic market, especially in the United States and the UK, but also in Hong Kong or Singapore. The bank provides all the services necessary to set up and run a successful DR program (ADR, GDR, etc.) plus a range of added services to ensure that both the issuing company and its investors get the most from the program.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the global sales team, as a Senior Sales person to win ADR/GDR mandates with issuers in North Asia. This includes winning “non-capital raising” mandates (transferring DR programs from the competition, establishing new Level I/II ADR programs, other international DR listings/structures, etc.), and capital raising DR mandates depending on market conditions (Level III ADR program, GDR, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver on new business development/origination goals (revenue targets, number of mandates, etc.)
- Proactive calling on target issuer clients (with primary focus on “non-capital raising” mandates)
- Maintain an active and up to date pipeline of opportunities in the region
- Develop relationships with issuer target clients, as well as key intermediaries (law firms, IR firms, stock exchanges, etc.)
- Building a network of relationships within the bank in order to obtain a detailed understanding of the overall bank’s relationship with each of our targets/clients
- Prepare tailored sales presentation materials and data analysis
- Prepare pricing proposals, working closely with DR product management
- Assist DR Relationship Managers in retention of existing clients
- Coordination and hosting of DR informational events in local markets, as well as external events (e.g. Investor Relations (IR) Awards)
- Work with DR product management to deliver product enhancements as necessary
You will have:
- Proven sales skills in a competitive environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Equities experience – a good understanding of equity markets and ideally the DR market
- Confidence and experience in liaising with senior management both internally and externally (CEO, CFO, Head of Investor Relations, etc.), especially in the North Asia region
