Chevron's Energy Technology Corporation (ETC) is accepting online applications for the position of Drilling Fluid Specialist located in Houston, Texas or Aberdeen, Scotland, or Perth, Australia, or Bangkok, Thailand, or Chegndu, China, and Lagos, Nigeria.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop procedures for, and plan supply of all fluids related programs for DC operations (includes drilling fluids, completion fluids, solids control equipment, and waste management). Maintain Basis Of Design, Standard Operating Procedure, and Lessons Learned/Best Practices documents for fluids waste management.
  • Provide technical guidance, trouble-shoorting, and decision support to operations personnel on fluids related wellbore problems.
  • Work with marine logistics to manage fluid stocks and boat coordination for offshore operations.Coordinate activities of fluid suppliers with rig operations personnel.
  • Work with HSE personnel to ensure safety of fluids and waste related operations, and regulatory compliance of fluids and cuttings, including coordination and interpretation of laboratory and field testing.
  • Prepare and analyze fluid tenders, support category management of suppliers of fluids related product service lines, and manage fluids performance metrics.
  • Support, mentor, and coach Expat and National Superintendents, Drill Site Managers, and DC Engineers relative to the importance of fluids to the success of DC operations. Transfer knowledge to targeted engineers in order to develop successor Subject Matter Experts.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Requires bachelor of science degree and minimum 10 years experience in Drilling and Completions fluids related jobs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with fluid design and operations, including drilling fluids, completion fluids, solids control, and waste management
  • Ability to provide Operations personnel with technical guidance and decision support related to wellbore problems, coordinate fluid related rig activities with logistics personnel, and manage regulatory compliance in conjunction with HSE personnel.
  • Ability to clearly document work processes fluids procedures and to manitain fluids performance metrics to support category management.
  • Ability to communicate across a diverse mix of internal external parties, represent DC in multi-functional teams, and provide mentoring/coaching to DC personnel on fluids related matters.
