Chevron's Upstream Capability is accepting online applications for the position of Drilling/Completions Engineer- Performance Management Group located in Houston, Texas.
Overview:
This position is responsible for providing deepwater drilling engineering and operations support to Global Deepwater Operations teams.
The Drilling and Completions (DC) Performance Management group was created to steward a performance culture through:
Data driven performance assessment and continuous performance improvement.
Development, deploy and training of the Global DC standards and initiatives.

The position will be involved in various aspects of the Performance Management Group which is responsible for the development, deploying, training and continued maturation of the Global Drilling and completions (DC) Standards and Initiatives.
In addition, several global projects lie within the group; RDOC (Real-time Drilling Optimization Center), Benchmarking, manage/guide DC Communities of Practice, Clear Leader quarterly magazine, DC Conference, etc.
Contribute to the development of a performance driven culture in Global Drilling and Completions (Global DC).
The PMG are charged with the development and ownership of global standards including ensuring that collective consensus of the global drilling community is reflected in the standards and also ensuring that appropriate SBU representation is included throughout all stages of the process.
Ensure that the DC Standards conform to Chevron OEMS process standards
Work closely with the drilling organization, as well as members from multifunctional teams to organize specific training materials on Global DC Standards for the SBUs.
Conduct training in individual SBUs, and provide continuous support as required to the SBUs.
Travel to both domestic and international work locations may be required
Responsible for the pre-planning and smooth execution of the 2012 Dilling Conference.
Work closely with drilling managers, engineering managers and SBU personnel responsible for tracking and inputting data to ensure quality of data.
Work with external benchmarking providers to ensure that Chevron data is properly represented/reported.
Assist Engineering Managers COP Drilling Completions Communities of Practice groups.
Promote Performance Drilling and HES within the Communities of Practice.
Participate as required with RAM peer reviews, SSTR, and Part IV/V MCP look-backs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering.
Minimum of two years directly related experience.
Broad knowledge of drilling and completions.
Experience working both rigsite and office based.
Good working knowledge of DC Global Standards (E.g. Well CPDEP, RUMS, MOC, TL Process, etc).
Applicable soft skills on communications to a broad array of personnel both internal and external of the company.
Ability to integrate within a diverse team.
Proactive, ability to multi-task on a host of projects simultaneously. Basic project management organization skills to coordinate projects.
Travel both domestic and international locations may be required. Trip length from 1-3 weeks.
