As an ASX listed mining company with operations throughout Australia and Eastern Europe, this firm is constantly seeking new opportunities to expand their portfolio of mining operations.
Due to the opening of a new venture in Western Australia, the need has arisen for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join the finance team and work closely with the Group Financial Controller. Looking to learn and develop their already well developed skill-set, the successful applicant will have begun, or be looking to begin, their CPA studies.
They will be responsible for processing small volumes of accounts payable and receivable, payroll for their small office staff, as well as taking the accounts to trial balance for both the Australian entity and the subsidiary entity of the new WA venture. Assisting with month-end procedures, monthly reporting, as well as ad-hoc analysis, the role is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to work closely with the head Financial Controller of a large, well-known international firm.
Due to the relatively autonomous nature of the transactional work, the successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar accounts or Assistant Accountant role.
Prior experience in MYOB and a large ERP system would also be an advantage, but by no means essential.
The role offers direct progression into a Company Accountant position once the applicant has completed their CPA studies.
