Driver Job in Delta, British Columbia Canada
Airgas Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Class 3 Driver position in Delta, BC. The driver is responsible for delivering product to our customers in a safe, courteous and professional manner. The driver is also responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the warehouse and ensuring all shipment/delivery paperwork is completed accurately and correctly. The driver should provide support to all operations staff and be prepared to assist with other duties as required.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Complete daily deliveries to medical, industrial and homecare clients in a safe and timely manner following federal, provincial, municipal and Airgas Canada safety policies and guidelines.
Check company vehicles daily, ensuring fluids, belts, tires, etc are in a safe working order, reporting any deficiencies immediately to the supervisor.
Assist with Airgas Canada's ongoing commitment to housekeeping in the warehouse and vehicle area.
Prepare necessary paperwork for other associates or branches, ensuring accuracy and legibility.
Loading and off-loading trucks with required cylinders or equipment for daily deliveries.
Work with internal and external customers in establishing good relations as well as appropriate service levels, including adequate cylinder requirements.
Keep Airgas Canada and all involved departments apprised of any issues involving customers, competitors and sales associates.
May be required to assist with the inspection and packaging of our gases following Airgas' S.O.P.
May be called upon to perform duties as required, providing safety standards are not jeopardized.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
* A clean driving record with no at-fault accidents for the past three years
* Minimum Class 5 Driver's License, Class 3 preferred.
* Information Systems (WHMIS)
* Clean driving record
* Ability to handle the responsibility of being on-call with a paging system when required
* Ability to routinely lift 10 to 70 kgs.
* Must be able to work in an environment where frequent bending crouching, pushing and pulling motions is required.
* Must be able to drive Airgas vehicles with either standard or automatic transmissions.
* Must be able to work overtime, when necessary and called upon by the supervisor.
* Must be able to operate in a smoke-free, drug-free and alcohol-free environment.
* Must be able to work with a variety of different personalities and cultural or ethnic backgrounds.
* Must be able to work in the outdoors under extreme weather conditions (ranges from -30 to + 40 degree Celsius)
* High school education or equivalent
