Senior Programme Manager
Up to £135,000 p/a City Of London

The top financial regulatory body in the UK is looking for a Senior Programme Manager to be second in command of their rapidly expanding Programme Manager Group, in which you would be reporting directly to the head of the group. This candidate would preferably come from a consulting background (although not necessary) with background with a very strong level of technical and business change skills.

This role is ideal for those that have had extensive experience managing teams of Programme managers as well as familiarity with coaching and mentoring more junior members in or outside the work place.

This job will entail:
• End to end delivery of programmes through the delivery lifecycle from the point of inception onto the portfolio managing the dependencies and the interfaces between the projects
• Lead and manage the project teams for the duration of the project, motivate the cross functional team assigned to the project (s); ensuring clarity of objectives, plans and deliverables.
• Establishing a Programme Board working with the Sponsor to ensure the appropriate representation and terms of reference are in place to govern the project through the lifecycle.
• Deliver all project artefacts to agreed scope, and agreed milestones and assure quality standards using governance and review authorities as appropriate
• Stakeholder manages effective relationships across the Organisation and associated external bodies, Sofa partners, other suppliers to ensure effective delivery.
• Work with the PMG core team to improve efficiency in the reporting of portfolio information, project management methods and standards, and allocation of common resources.
• Line Manage up to 5 permanent Associate members of staff providing coaching and mentoring; Talent management and succession planning.

Skills Experience required:

• Proven track record of successful delivery of large scale complex programmes in multiple geographical locations
• In-depth knowledge of programme / project management methodologies based on Prince 2; MS Projects and MSP
• Experience of delivering complex technical change including both outsourcing and in-house delivery using different delivery methods
• Ability to work to tight deadline when under pressure
• Strong financial, stakeholder and contract management skills
