DUI Counselor

Our services and programs include:

Moral Resonation Therapy (MRT)is the premiere cognitive-behavioral program for criminal justice offenders. 

MRT addresses beliefs and reasoning. It is a systematic, step-by-step group counseling treatment approach for treatment-resistant clients.  The program is designed to alter how clients think and make judgments about what is right and wrong. The MRT system approaches the problem of treating resistant populations as a problem of low levels of moral reasoning. 

 

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for participant’s intake assessment, orientation

Effectively communicates the program rules, regulations, requirements and treatment plans

Provides face-to- face services to participants with suspended licenses 

Develop classroom MRT plans

Develop and monitor the participant’s progress through all phases of the program

Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary

Maintain progress notes in participant files

Administer required drug testing and or breathalyzer testing

Advise Department of participants that are not in compliance with their program requirements.

Maintain an auditable case file for all participants under their management

 

 

Required Skills

 

Ability to work in Microsoft Office applications and other windows based programs

 

Professional communication skills to communicate with members of the

 

Department, employees, and program participants in a treatment program

 

Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed information

 

Ability to produce comprehensive narrative reports and maintain accurate records

 

Strong presentation and persuasive skills

 

Ability to work independently

 

Must have a valid driver’s license, clear motor vehicle report, a personal vehicle in good mechanical condition, and documentation of current insurance coverage

 

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background investigation that meets Department's requirements.

 

 

Education / Experience

 

 Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years experience in a related field

 Some knowledge of community services and resources preferred

 Criminal Justice Background preferred

 Minimum 21 years of age
